ACUPUNCTURE
Duties and Responsibilities: Unlike conventional Western medical practice, acupuncture professionals
are trained to treat the entire individual rather than the specific illness or
condition. They take into account a patient's physical, mental and emotional
condition in order to determine the proper course of treatment. In addition to
providing acupuncture therapy, practitioners help their patients achieve
balance and wellness in their everyday lives.
Salary: between
56,000 and 84,000
Education: Most acupuncture and
TCM training programs require students to have a bachelor's degree. While the
degree can be in any subject, classes in physiology, anatomy, biology and
psychology will help prepare aspiring acupuncturists for successful careers. A
bachelor's degree in a health care or alternative medicine related subject is
especially helpful for a career as an acupuncturist
Reflection: I guess I would like to be an acupuncturist it
pays a lot of money. It would be nice to be one but that’s not what I really
want to be but I guess it would be nice to be one.
